At the other end of the spectrum you will find El Chapultepec. This is a crowded spot in Lodo that is known for its live blues and jazz. El Chapultepec is a popular cash-only, no cover establishment that offer daily live music. Continuing in the dive-ish bar, daily live music vein is Hi-Dive (http://www.hi-dive.com). Hi-Dive is a non-pretentious rock club that offers indie music in South Broadway.

If you seek a dance club type of experience, complete with light show, Beta Nightclub (http://www.betanightclub.com) brings in the top techno performers in the country. If a country dance experience is more your speed, then visit Grizzly Rose (http://www.grizzlyrose.com) for live country music, dance lessons and a mechanical bull.

Independent cafes also chime in with their own flavor of live music. If you're in the Old South Pearl neighborhood, try Stella's Coffeehaus (http://www.stellascoffee.com) for its unique atmosphere and excellent espressos. Mercury Cafe (http://www.mercurycafe.com) offers a bohemian feel, as well as live music, poetry, theatre and dance events. Let your feet take you to a vibrant live music show in your new town.
